Passerines Hide
The Pond
A strategic observation point for many birds in the area . This permanent water body freezes in winter and attracts animals for the rest of the year.
The bird species present in the area are: mountain greenfinch, jays, royal whistle, buskerets, thrushes, scribes, finches, woodpeckers, chickadees, cuckoos, passerines, red-tailed hawks, red-backed jays, cicadas, robins, shrike, black-footed flycatchers, totovias, red partridges, wagtails, occasionally squirrels, large mammals and bird-like lizards. In April and September, there are also many migratory species : water snakes, amphibians and dragonflies. The pond is open access, as it is very close to the house. You can enter and exit on demand, without schedules or limits on stay.

Deer Watching
Although not a hide, this deer observation point is part of the activities we offer in our experiences. Sitting on camouflaged chairs and stools , at ground level , we get the deer to approach in search of food. An open field experience that allows us to see these majestic animals a few meters away and at their same height.

Observation hide
This large capacity hide is the only one without glass that we have. The activity consists of an evening feeding session, designed to let you observe the birds from just a few meters away. Although not specifically for photography, it gives the opportunity to capture the vultures in mid-flight and to see them in an extraordinary moment. Common, black and griffon vultures usually appear.

Stone marten Hide
This is our night hide specially designed for observing the pheasant at night. It has police glass and a light lighting that does not interrupt the animal's activity, but facilitates its photography. Its design allows different positions and a more complete observation of the nature that surrounds it, usually a distance of 8 meters is achieved from the animal to the hide . It has capacity for four people.
The fox is an agile and discreet mammal, known for its characteristic white spot on its chest. With nocturnal habits, it moves elegantly through forests and meadows, feeding on small mammals, birds, fruits and insects. Its presence is a sign of a healthy ecosystem, and observing it —or photographing it— at night is a challenge as fascinating as it is rewarding. The fox , an iconic mammal of our landscape, cunning and adaptable, can sometimes also be spotted from the Stone marten Hide.

Golden Eagle Hide
These two double hides are specially designed to be able to photograph an exemplary pair of golden eagles that reside in Buseu . More intimate, they have a capacity of two photographers per hide and are located only about 500 meters from the accommodation , through a low difficulty path.
The golden eagle is one of the largest birds of prey in Europe. Majestic and powerful, its wingspan can exceed two meters. Recognized by its dark plumage with golden highlights on the head and nape, it hunts mainly mammals and medium-sized birds.
In Buseu, their presence is a unique spectacle for any lover of nature and photography.

Bearded Vulture Hide
An exceptional hide at ground level, where close-up photographs can be captured thanks to the one-way mirror spy glass. Easily accessible and with capacity for 10 people, it also has amenities such as a bathroom and power outlet , ensuring that nothing unforeseen can interfere with your photographic experience.
In this hide you can take spectacular photographs of the woodpeckers in their six different plumages . In addition, from May to September, the four scavenger birds can be seen together :
ACCESSIBLE ON FOOT FROM BUSEU
Exclusive hides:
Observation sites unique in the world.
The only place where you can observe the 4 vultures of Europe at the same time from specific and adapted hides that can be reached by walking from Buseu.
WHEN TO COME?
Seasonality
The best time to photograph scavengers is from October to May, both due to weather conditions and to respect the animals' vital times. It should be remembered that all of these emblematic scavengers are in danger: poisoning, habitat loss and human pressure seriously threaten their survival.
At Buseu we fight every day so that their flight does not stop.
