BUSEU WILD PYRENEES NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY
From abandoned village to private nature reserve.
At BUSEU Wild Pyrenees Nature Photography we believe in a world where direct experience with wild nature positively transforms people.
THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING
Our history

The Buseu adventure started out of passion and instinct, on a small scale, without an instruction manual. Jordi Canut, a leading naturalist and founder of the project , went to live in the same valley as his wife. In 2003, they bought a house in the abandoned village of Buseu and without realizing it, they started a project that would become a personal challenge , adream come true.
Over the following years, they acquired the remaining ruined houses and the surrounding land, totaling more than 230 hectares. The goal? To demonstrate that by working with the territory's natural resources in a different way , a village can be restored and biodiversity preserved and improved.

From a young age, I was nurtured by my parents' passion and love for nature. This led me to study Forestry Engineering . Once I finished my degree, I found myself faced with one of those questions that keep me awake at night: What do I want to do with my life? What impact do I want to leave on the world?
In search of these answers, I went to South Africa . There I discovered first-hand the world of safaris, the management of private reserves and quality nature tourism.
I returned home with very clear ideas: I wanted to bet strongly on what we have in our territory , my home; I wanted to transform the family hobby into a professional project , a model of nature preservation and, at the same time, personal transformation.

“The challenge of the project is to demonstrate the social and economic viability of managing the area's natural heritage against other unsustainable projects in space and time that could mortgage the area in the long term.”

Gerard Canut
